Pilgrim is a Danish accessories company established in 1983. Pilgrim primarily sells costume jewelry, but has expanded its line in recent years to include watches and sunglasses. Pilgrim is hugely popular in Europe, but is gaining popularity in the United States and Canada also.

Humble Beginnings

Thomas Adamsen and Annemette Markvad started Pilgrim in the early 1980s in a small basement flat in Skanderborg, Denmark. Adamsen and Markvad began selling their unique jewelry at street fairs and rock festivals. In the beginning, their jewelry line was either handmade or acquired from one of their many adventures overseas. Now, their jewelry and accessories are distributed worldwide and their company has more than 400 employees.

Trademarks

Pilgrim's jewelry line has always been different and adventurous. Their designers love to mix and match diverse materials and colors. The results are always spectacular. Pilgrim's jewelry line runs the gamut from retro heirloom to garish and kitsch. Buyers can expect to find a variety of charms and pendants included in their jewelry: birds, flowers, Russian nesting dolls, and super heroes.

Celebrity Models

Pilgrim has hired several famous women to model their jewelry in their ad campaigns. Former Pilgrim models include American actress Liv Tyler, French actress Emmanuelle Bart, and Danish supermodel Helena Christensen.

Handmade with Quality Materials

Pilgrim's jewelry and accessories typically contain Swarovski crystals; semi-precious stones; natural and freshwater pearls; and glass. The jewelry is designed at the Pilgrim headquarters in Denmark and individually handmade in China.
