After six months of dating, and only five months since his much-publicized divorce from Heather Mills, Paul McCartney is already shopping for engagement rings for his girlfriend, American Heiress Nancy Shevell.

When McCartney and Shevell first met, Paul was going through his divorce and Nancy was separated from her husband. It is probably because of this that details of their exact first meeting are sketchy at best. It is known that, on the day of his High Court divorce hearing, McCartney went to visit Shevell at Blake's Hotel in Chelsea, and spent two nights there with her. Shevell is, undoubtedly, a breath of fresh air to the former Beatles frontman, because she already has plenty of her own money, is a millionaire in her own right, and is not a candidate for the money-snatching two-step (or should I say one-step ) that was the Heather Mills divorce fiasco.

During the week before the ill-fated McCartney/Mills wedding, in an example of epic foreshadowing, the 15,000-pound diamond engagement ring Paul had given Heather flew out the window and into the hotel garden during an argument. Had Paul heeded the gods, and not followed up with a wedding ring, he could have saved himself a lot of griefot to mention money.

It was well known that Stella McCartney, Paul's daughter with Linda McCartney, did not approve of, or even like Heather Mills. This caused a rift in the Rock Roll Royal Family--one that had seemed to be above all tabloid gossip until after Linda lost her battle with breast cancer in 1998.

Paul and Linda McCartney were an unusual rock roll romance. They exchanged wedding rings in 1969, became British Royalty together when Paul was knighted in 1997, and were separated only by her death. According to a source, Paul has been shopping for engagement rings, as he truly believes that he has found The One albeit for the third time. At this time, Nancy Shevell is still legally married, but, as soon as her divorce is final, he plans to give her an engagement ring the like of which no one has ever seen.
